Patrick,
I stopped by the Farmers’ Market Friday evening in Fort Wayne and bought a copy of your book “Lake Wawasee” that you signed for me. I read it over the weekend and enjoyed it.
As the DNR’s district fisheries biologist for Wawasee for the past 35 years, I got a kick out of the way you based your story on gar and weaved it around many of the fish management issues and projects I’ve been involved with at the lake: e.g. electrofishing, radio-tracking, fishing tournaments, wake-boarding, and the lake sturgeon catch. Your description and use of the social/economic background, as well as Wawasee’s scenic character, fit well into the story
I have to admit, however, I wasn’t sure your book would end up as a serious drama or comedy. I chuckled several times over how you used many of the misperceptions that folks have about gar, the DNR, and what we do. And of course I wondered why you didn’t have James Hill simply explain that the dead radio-tagged gar was one they were using for research to help locate other schools of gar (we’ve done that with radio-tagged muskies in Lake Webster).
I know --- a story has to end somewhere. Any plans for a follow-up: perhaps one on the monster muskies of Lake Webster?
Good luck on your sales.

Hello Patrick -- we need to touch base with you. At Syracuse Public Library we receive calls every week looking for your book and cannot find any available copies in town. Do you have more to sell and where are they available? Our copies (3) are wearing out due to heavy usage....good news!
Please keep in touch so we can inform patrons where your book is available to purchase.
Thanks!

Hi, Patrick,
Just wanted to tell you that I just finished "Lake Wawasee" and couldn't put it down. Very good plot.
The underground spring theory makes me wonder if such a thing could be possible with the Loch Ness Monster. Hmmmm.
I've fished at Wawasee for many years and consider it my home away from home - Thanks for an entertaining read.
